Looking back at how the Cattaneo Lab at the University of Milan used the Cellbox™ Shipper Flight to enable international transport of neuronal progenitor cells for a Huntington’s disease model.

In their work, the team generated neuronal progenitors from pluripotent stem cells in just 20 days and transplanted them into animal models. The live cells traveled from Milan to Lund under controlled CO₂ and temperature conditions with remote monitoring, arriving in excellent condition after an 8 hour journey and ready for immediate transplantation.

The case highlights how dependable transport solutions can help move advanced stem cell based therapies from the lab towards real world application.
