Reg Med nytt

PHI har anställt kompetens till sitt nystartade kontor i Reg Med´s epicentrum, Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Nämligen Casey Clark med bakgrund från Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicin (WFIRM / the largest regenerative medicine institute in the world) där han tillbringat de senaste 6 åren ca.

Med sin närvaro i Winston-Salem kommer PHI snabbare accelerera sin verksamhet,vilket man berättade om för 4 månader sen i Q2 rapporten. Från den :

- Together with the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine, PHI, BioSpherix, analytics leader SAS and QIAGEN have created a technology development alliance for advancing cell-based biomanufacturing.  

The creation of the alliance has prompted us to establish a sales and development office in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

North Carolina has 790 life sciences companies and 2 500 related service providers. The biggest names in pharma — Biogen, Novartis, Pfizer and more — have space there, and every day new biotechs are emerging with an NC ZIP code. The region is ranked third in National Institutes of Health funding and is a leader in biologics manufacturing.

I området finns även ReMDO (RegenMed Development Organization) som PHI partnade upp med i Aug 2021. PHI ingår partnerskap inom regenerative medicin

Inom Reg Med sektorn kan berättas att affärandet kommit igång så smått. Danska bjässen Novo Nordisk betalar för tillgång till bioprintteknik från Kanadensiska företaget Aspect Biosystems. Affären visar lite om vilka summor bjässarna är beredda att betala för att få igång sin forskning till konkret resultat, det via en högkompetent mindre Reg Med aktör. Detta är naturligtvis inte applicerbart på PHI rakt av,men ger en fingervisning hur värdefull en mindre spelare kan vara när bjässarna drar igång sin Reg Med verksamhet.

NOVO NORDISK

SAMARBETE INOM BIOPRINTADE VÄVNADSBEHANDLINGAR (Direkt)

STOCKHOLM (Nyhetsbyrån Direkt) Den danska läkemedelsjätten Novo Nordisk ingår partnerskap med Aspect Biosystems inom utveckling av bioprintade vävnadsbehandlingar inom diabetes och fetma.

Det framgår av ett pressmeddelande.

Under samarbetet kommer Aspect Biosystems bidra med sin bioprintteknologi medan Novo Nordisk står för teknologi inom stamceller och cellterapi.

Aspect Biosystems kommer att få 75 miljoner dollar i en upfrontbetalning plus upp till 650 miljoner dollar i framtida milstolpsbetalningar. Därtill tillkommer royalty på eventuell försäljning.

Under samarbetet får Novo Nordisk globala exklusiva rättigheter till Aspect Biosystems bioteknologi i upp till fyra produkter för behandling av diabetes och fetma. /

En pikant detalj i sammanhanget är att Novo Nordisk är kund till PHI (sen 2021 har jag för mig).

HoloMonitor Fluorescence Now at Novo Nordisk

Phase Holographic Imaging (PHI) recently installed a fluorescence-equipped HoloMonitor^® system at Novo Nordisk A/S. The installation is part of a series of test installations to allow experienced HoloMonitor customers to provide feedback regarding functionality and user-friendliness prior to the upcoming product launch.

Fluorescence microscopy is an essential tool used by cell biologists to study the genetic activity of cells. However, fluorescence microscopy is harmful to the cells, making it difficult to study genetic activity over time. PHI solves this dilemma by combining holography with fluorescence microscopy. /

Kan man då dra några slutsatser av att Novo Nordisk dragit igång sin Reg Med verksamhet och att de var det första? företaget att vilja testa HoloMonitor-kombon?
Troligtvis inte,men jag utesluter ingenting.

The Biden administration also wants more companies to power bioproduction of medicines with artificial intelligence. This could both improve on the speed and diversity of drug manufacturing and assist with the design of new therapies, the report argues.

Finally, the report encourages the development of new strategies and techniques for gene editing, again with a focus on expanding access and enabling new therapeutics.

To further those aims, the Biden administration plans to plug federal investments into biotech and biomanufacturing R&D as well as domestic biomanufacturing production capacity, according the report.
